Who are we?

 

In short, I'm just one person.  I was born in the North East of England and like many of us from this part of the world, I am extremely proud and passionate about where I grew up. It's lush up here.

 

Discovering Photography

 

I went travelling in 2010 and took a little point and shoot camera with me, nothing special, nothing expensive.  I had no real interest in photography at this point, but as I visited some of the most beautiful parts of the world, I started using my camera a bit more.  After a while, I had a few people telling me some of my photos were canny, and my interest grew.

 

From there, I did lots of research and reading, and went out in all kinds of weather to see what I could do.  At first, most of my photos weren't worth keeping (I did keep them though!), but with more practice, I got better. I was taking some nice photos, and I started to develop a passion.  I wanted to show everyone how beautiful it is up here, it's certainly not grim!

As I'm self taught, I still have lots to learn, but I'm getting there.  I always tell people to just give it a go.  If I can do it, I genuinely believe anyone can.  Just don't get better than me, set up a website, and steal my customers (please).
